Tapa means lid in Spanish and is also the name given to a small appetizer, which is served to wine or beer, nowadays the offer ranges from a simple nibble to nouvelle cuisine. Tapas are a tradition and an intrinsic part of conviviality in Spain.
Back in the day, typically in bars and bodegas the glass would be covered with a slice of bread, to save the drink from flies. In time, some barowners topped the bread with some olives or anchovies and gradually the small bites became evermore creative, today Tapas are an essential part of any social gathering. .
In our Tapas Cooking Course we will learn to make tasty traditional Tapas Receipes and offer suggestions for your own Tapas Party.

Description of the half day cooking course
This is a special course available for individuals or groups. During the course you will learn how to prepare a complete Tapas Menu.
The selection of the Tapas for our Menu depends on the season, so as to offer top quality and fresh ingredients.
We will offer a varied Menu, one appetizer, six Tapas, and one dessert.
- Olives and Manchego Cheese
- Cold vegetable soup, Gazpacho, with Watermelon and Mint
- Traditional Spanish omelette with potato, bread and tomatoes
- Toasted bread with iberic dried ham, mushrooms and Buffallo Mozzarella
- Calamari with saffron aioli.
- Fried sobrasada with honey and rosemary.
- Red pepper crème with Cod mousse.
- Crema catalana, typical Catalán caramel creme.
The cooking school in Gracia is fully equipped to guarantee a wonderful experience. We will start with the preparation of traditional and new Tapas. Continue to discover the secrets of the Spanish cuisine with one of the traditional main dishes and finish of the class with a delicious Crema Catalana to round of a perfectly balanced Tapas menu.
And then it’s time to taste it all! Your own creations accompanied by selected wines, will be served in beautiful surroundings. You will receive a booklet with all the recipes, so that you can reproduce the experience for your friends at home.

- Morning courses on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 o’clock. Followed by Lunch.

If the desired time and date of your reservation is still available you‘ll receive confirmation in 48 hours. The reservation needs to be confirmed. After confirmation half of the payment is to be transferred, to accept the reservation.
Please, when making the reservation remember to specify dates, number of participants and if any special requirements (i.e. Vegetarian, Allergies, etc…) are to be taken into account.
